Progress XML Support and the Document Object Model (DOM)

Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a data format for structured document interchange over networks. Progress supports two XML programming interfaces: Document Object Model (DOM) and the Simple API for XML (SAX). This chapter provides an overview of the interfaces and then covers the DOM interface, described in the following sections:
